Hyaluronic acid is a compound that the human body produces and contains, but one that its production in the body diminishes over time. Hyaluronic acid retains a significant amount of water so it keeps the skin hydrated. By losing hyaluronic acid, the skin becomes less firm and loses volume, and wrinkles and fine lines appear more. The Juvederm contains hyaluronic acid to combat the signs of aging skin and is perfectly biocompatible and biodegradable.

Who Can Have JUVÉDERM®  injections performed?

People who want to restore volume and the elasticity of their skin should consider having this procedure done. Aging skin tends to show wrinkles but the Juvederm procedure restores the skin from the inside and recovers the lost volume and brightness that naturally happens over time.

There is no need for allergy testing prior to treatment.

Consultation Process

During the natural aging process, we lose essential substances to the health of our skin such as collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid specifically, which we lose over time, is one of the substances responsible for maintaining the volume and hydration of the skin. Therefore, treatment with JUVÉDERM® reduces wrinkles and fine lines. This treatment gives excellent and immediately visible results, as well as the convenience of it, which is a nonsurgical procedure.

What Results Can I Expect From This Procedure?

JUVÉDERM® not only fills wrinkles of the skin but deeply moisturizes which in turn encourages the body to produce more of its own hyaluronic acid.  With JUVÉDERM®, wrinkles are erased and the skin gets brighter and firmer. The results can be noticed almost immediately and last up to one year.

Recovery and Aftercare

It is not a treatment that requires special aftercare but it is an outpatient procedure after which the patient can return to daily activities. During the first two days after the procedure, the patient may experience mild discomfort such as redness or swelling in the treated area. After that time, the patient will see the results of the treatment and will not have any discomfort.

The treatment lasts about a year, although a touch-up session every six months is recommended. If the patient decides not to have the treatment performed again, they will have no issues because the body is perfectly capable of degrading Juvederm.

At our clinic, You & I Primary Care, Aesthetics and Wellness, Juvederm injections for the elimination of wrinkles and expression marks are performed by our double Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner Dr. Leonard Einstein, DNP, APRN, NP-C who is highly qualified and with a high rate of satisfied patients.
